This review could cover actresses from across generations and focuses on women who actually are/were in the news despite their obvious shortcomings. Here goes:
1) Kareena Kapoor - I don’t care about her public persona or her brash interviews(where she is truly air headed) but the truth is she just doesn’t have it in her. She is one actress who has been presented repeatedly with a plethora of opportunities but not once has she risen to the occasion. Its not just about the box office failures. Please name one movie where this’actress’ has left a favorable impression. Even her tryst with dev, chameli etc have left no impression. All she has now is the ability to yap and because she has to be in the news 24/7 we have to suffer her in print. If she’s a leading actress then I am Chengez Khan! Why arent these filmmakers getting it? She’s clearly been rejected again and again and again.
2) Babita - I twist in agony each time I remember her old movies(courtesy DD in the early 80’s) and never failed to wonder how this woman got a movie offer to begin with. Her white lipstick, agonized expressions and overall creepy persona makes her the unanimous choice for “Lizard Lady”! What were they thinking when they cast her in flicks?
3) Rinkie Khanna/Twinkle - Thank god this sister duo with the whacky names got the hint and moved away from cinema. No personal offense ladies but you truly had NOTHING to offer as cinema personalities. No talent, no looks and a plethora of irritating facial expressions. Again, it’s not about you being a star kid. Some of them are actually good(saif ali khan, kajol etc) but the fact that you had ZERO talent. By the way, were dimple and rajesh khanna on dope when they were naming their kids?
4) Mamta Kulkarni -’Tits alone do not a star make’! This shady lady made the most of her underworld connections and got a few flicks where all she did was roll her eyes, thrust her bosom and give interviews with tall claims of being right at the top of the star heap. Seriously, what’s with these chicks(Kareena, mamta kulkarni) who gave/give long interviews about how terrific they are, how they are lonely at the top, how they are the highest paid actresses. I mean…. Come on! Whom are you trying to fool? Yourselves or the readers? I just hope that star magazines and their journalists don’t succumb repeatedly to the pressures of being paid off by these people just to get mileage.
5) Esha Deol - Well, I have to admit(very reluctantly) that she’s suddenly looking better post yuva and pre dhoom, but seriously. is it fair that she got these many chances to make a mark and yet couldn’t do anything to save face? This is truly her last chance and if she’s not getting her act together in dhoom, can someone PLEASE esc*rt her out of the movie industry, right out of the gates, shut the doors and throw the keys JUST in case she decided to gate crash again?
Other gems who should be part of this list are celina jeitly, priyanka chopra and all the other bimbettes who have made a career out of skin show(ps - mallika sherawat is a mark above the rest, she does seem to have some acting skills)
