Saas, bahu, jassi, simran,pooja...aaargh!

The Indian television industry makes more revenue than the Indian Film Industry! However the rate at which the serials are drrrraaaaaaaaaaaaging these days, this scenario is about to change unless production companies start concentrating on fresher subjects and novel ideas.

Take any serial today which is over a year old.most of them started off with very good scripts and stories.Kyuki ssas.Jassi Jassi.Astitva.Kahani ghar.Yeh meri life. they all started off well and gripped the audiences and then the same thing happened to all of them.the script writers probably came to a point where the script could not move forward unless they add a new character or simply delete someone. They call it twist in the story but there is a limit to additions and deletions.

If the plot the serial started with is about to close and end, rather than ending the serial gracefully the script writer decides to add a twist.lets look at some.

Tulsi and Mandira drama.Karan comes into the scene.acceptance of Karan.Tulsi then finds her own son Ansh and the family is complete.then he turns out to be a negative character.fair enough.then we have Ansh marrying Nandini.then murder of Ansh.then Tanya and Karan.now Nandini is back.so where exactly is this going to lead us?!?!?!

Jassi a simple sweet girl.passionate about her work.worships gulmohar.treated like sh*t.loves her boss.boss uses her.fools with her emotions and feelings.love blossoms.betrayal.accusations made.Jassi becomes Jessica.(the making of which by the way took 2 weeks).Jassi returns with a bang! revenge from those who made her suffer.now what? End it yaar! gracefully and nicely before it turns into another astitva.

Dr. Simran.young husband.betrayal.new relationship.Kiran.ain’t working out.Kiran out.new lady.still in love with Simran.however marries new lady.child.in the meantime Simran looses hers.press the fwd button.young are old and new ones are young teenagers.Astha comes back.trying to solve a murder mystery.falling in love with someone who is her father! Heavens have the twists also gone down the drains!

And then we have another lot who try to copy the west.Batliwala number 43.isn’t that a piece of inspirational work as it would be described by some

I could go on and on but honestly the only point I am trying to make is our television serials need a make over, a set of new and fresh serials that will be not necessarily be 5 years old in age but will entertain.as opposed to bore us to death!

Wake up people, we need a change!
