Few months back when I used Flipkart services for the first time, I was very impressed by the service, pricing and a strong IT support to their website. The website is very well organized and items are priced very very well. I instantly became a fan of Flipkart and was recommending it to all friends and colleagues.
Recent experiences have not been anywhere close to good. Recently it happened twice - I got a message that item will be delivered today, but received a regret SMS in the evening, stating Flipkart could not deliver due to rain & heavy traffic jam. Funny excuse, especially if you run operations in Bangalore where it rains almost twice or thrice a week :-)
Also, received a broken hand blender. The item seemed to be packed defected intentionally. No one from Flipkart actually would have checked the item before dispatching. A clear case of negligence. I took me about 40 days to process the reverse pickup done. I exchanged some 30 e-mails with Flipkart customer service for this. Adding to the pain, the logistics guy for the pickup went to a friends home (whom I sent a gift through Flipkart after this transaction) everytime for picking up this hand blender.
After 4-5 emails stating that the item needs to be picked up from the same address where it was delivered (which was perhaps common sense) - the person came to my place and picked it up.
I am very disappointed for the fact that the company started off very very well, but did not mature with the growth and number of orders. Its almost going like govt companies after showing some good promises. My advise to Flipkart - hire some sane customer care executives and buckle up yourself or youd soon be out for bidding when Amazon/Wall-mart comes in.
