I am appalled to know that Flipkart is no less an unethical and greedy company as is and as much as Reliance.
I made this order: OD30811092613 on 11th of August with an expected delivery date on 21st August. I very much needed this book urgently for my PMP exam about 2 weeks distance from the EDD. Nothing to be surprised, they delayed it by another week from EDD; and then sent me this message that they are going to deliver it the next morning.
And again what happened? 3 days passed by and no call, nothing, no response at all and then suddenly the status changes as "book returned due to unavailability of customer". Oh, but they contacted me 2 days before on my mobile and on 21st, they delivered another book to me on the same address, and the delivery boy knows me by name and my house address. How can knowing all this, they couldn’t find my address. How so?
Yeah, here is inside story of their strange behavior. The story was that the book price was earlier INR 3060 when I ordered it. But, due to volatile market, by the time EDD reached, the rupee crashed to Rs 66/$. So, now they same book could fetch INR 3426 without any toil :-) ; so, they wanted to earn an extra 300 bucks for free. So, despite all things, not caring about the customer’s urgency of the book, they wanted to secure their biryani and kebab at the cost of my exam.
So, now when I called them, they simply suggested me to buy the book again and it will be delivered in 2-3 days time. No big deal, the only cause for this inordinate delay is this petty 300 bucks.
