I had shopped two times with Flipkart. Both times Flipkart has failed to deliver my books in real time.
What I feel is great about the whole Flipkart team is – they have a huge collection of books, the online classification of books is great, it is very easy to maneuver in the website for a novice user, flexible payment options, the overall process of online shopping is a easy and simple procedure, good customer care and post sale services.
My Experience:
I had ordered a “Computer Networks” book from Flipkart. I reside in a posh area of Kolkata. The book arrived but much ahead of the delivery date they had promised. I had to personally call the courier service up couple of times to get the book delivered. The book was shipped by Aramex Courier. Although this courier company has a nice tracking facility yet the employees working there are lousy. They can’t assist you in absolutely anything. They take the customers for granted. The book arrived at my place 6 days late than the expected delivery date. The courier people came to my place at 10 in the night to deliver the book. Can you believe it? I had no options but to accept the book.
The second time I ordered a “Story-collection” book from Flipkart to gift my nephew on his birthday. This time I had to call multiple number of times to the courier service(this time again Aramex) with no help from the other side. I had to sent a couple of emails to Flipkart as well. The response from Flipkart team was quick. So, when the books did not arrive even after two weeks from the expected delivery date, I had to cancel the order. I had to buy a separate gift for his birthday. One fine morning, I got a call from Aramex telling me that the book has arrived and it is necessary that I receive it. I said no. The person(lady) over phone was absolutely not bothered about the late delivery. She did not apologize for the inconvenience caused to me. I refused to accept the book in any case after several cross-talks.
P.S. Both times I used ‘Cash-on-Delivery” mode of payment,
My say:
Flipkart is yet to improve their connections with the courier services with whom they are attached. Or they should increase their tie-ups with better courier services. As for Aramex they are simply chipmunks!! Overall, Flipkart team is doing well. Recently, they had upgraded the website.
A word of advise to all MS members, if you are using Flipkart, do suggest them the preferred courier service you would like to take.
As for people who would think that I should have posted this review under the title "Lousy Aramex Courier Service" I believe that it is the responsibility of the online shopping team to ensure that the product ordered should reach their customers in real time.
