BLEW THEIR LAST CHANCE AT REDEMPTION! (UPDATED)

UPDATED 8 OCTOBER 2017:

Flipkart no longer takes complaints via email! VERY BAD! When I tried to send a mail to tell them the delivery boys are not carrying sufficient change at times, I got an auto-reply directing me to the so called "help" page WHICH IS OF NO HELP AT ALL SINCE MY PROBLEM WASN’T LISTED!

HERE is the mail I "tried" to send:

I’m just wondering why you e-commerce people start off so very well, then as soon as you get crores of shekels from the venture capitalist shylocks, you get arrogant and your service goes to crap?

The delivery person who brought my spray lacquers was polite and well behaved, but he was not carrying sufficient change. My delivery was Rs 920, I gave him Rs 1, 000 and he only gave me back Rs 30, saying he did not have sufficient change to give me the Rs 80 that was owed to me.

You people have more money than the gods, but you refuse to give your delivery personnel sufficient change to get them through the day. This is the 2nd time this week that this has happened to me on a COD order. If you are going to offer COD facility, you must ensure that your delivery staff is provided sufficient cash at all times to provide adequate change to customers.

This may ruffle your feathers to hear this but I don’t care: CASH IS STILL LEGAL TENDER IN INDIA.

If you are deliberately giving delivery staff insufficient cash in order to cause hardship to customers, in hopes that we will kneel for you and comply with this Phone Pe nonsense, you are daft indeed.

When we WANT to pay cash, we WILL pay cash, even if it means boycotting e-commerce and purchasing our items in brick & mortar establishments, and there’s not squat you can do about it.

The fact that use of cash increased after this macabre demonetization stunt(that a suspicious number of e-commerce companies hysterically endorsed), means the PEOPLE do NOT want to live under a digital dictatorship, so you should stop making things difficult for your cash paying customers unless you want to be boycotted and lose both customers and investors.

In closing, the fact that you expect your delivery staff to fulfill COD deliveries with insufficient change is CRUEL to the worker. You are causing your delivery people to feel embarrassed and fearful, and for what? When I told this young man that I would tell you people to supply sufficient cash henceforth, he started looking scared, as if he feared a reprimand or sacking. If you can get past your social prejudices enough to treat these fellas like people instead of donkeys, and empower them to provide the very best service, you will have less employee attrition and a better brand image.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

Gosh, where do I start?  Flipkart used to have decent service, but now they’re going in the direction that sewage flows.

Since I’ve been spending money with Flipkart for 5-6 years, I would expect  better from them by now.  They fail to understand the very customers who helped build them can also destroy them with active boycotts when they get too big for their boots and start biting the hands that fed them prior to venture funding!  Less customers=less money, and if sales go down far enough, the investors will pull out.  NO MONEY, NO HONEY!

Funny how these companies are top notch until they start getting funding from venture capitalist firms(some of which are situated in western countries!), then suddenly they start screwing customers without so much as a token kiss nor a polite layer of Vaseline!

So, I placed a large COD order with Flipkart, a lot of arts supplies and a few personal items.  NONE of these items are being shipped from the same vendor, they’re all from different vendors and nothing is packed together in 1 box.

I’ve had mixed feelings about a particular item, one can of matte spray lacquer, so I decided to cancel that particular item and replace it with a gloss lacquer.  Now I have 2 new problems!

1) When I try to cancel the order for this 1 item, a box pops up telling me that the rest of the order also will be canceled!  What BS is this?  This is obviously some Machiavellian mechanism to stop all cancellations and force me to buy and live with a product that I DON’T WANT.

2) When I looked for an alternative lacquer, I found an infuriatingly contradictory product description and brought it to their notice under the "ask question" link.  Check it out for yourself at the link.

A lacquer WILL NEVER BE BOTH "MATTE" AND "GLOSS" IN ONE CAN, IT CAN ONLY BE 1 OR THE OTHER.  Also, the photo of the product does not offer any specifics, whether this is matte or gloss.

AND the person who wrote this content is not fit to be writing product descriptions in English, since they spelled "matte" as "matt" and obviously do not know the difference between "matte" and "gloss."  They’re just churning out some ridiculously bad quality content and Flipkart is more than happy to pay them to produce utter crap.

Here’s the skinny on that screw up:

When I sent them the notice that the product description is CONTRADICTORY and told them to get some literate people familiar with products to write their content, they replied with the following message, accusing me of asking "irrelevant question":

We noticed that your question on Just Spray Matt Lacquer Clear for furniture Polish etc. Acrylic Spray Paint 400 ml does not fully conform to our internal guidelines.

We request you to submit your question again as per our guidelines. We will review it and then make it live on Flipkart.

You asked: DESCRIPTION IS CONTRADICTORY. YOU ARE DESCRIBING IT AS BOTH "MATTE" AND "GLOSS" FINISH, IT CANNOT BE BOTH! GET A LITERATE PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE PRODUCT TO DO YOUR CONTENT!

Reason for not-approving the question: Irrelevant question

For any concerns or queries, please feel free to reach our 24x7 Customer Care for help.

So, as a paying customer, I do not even have the right to tell them their product description contradicts itself!  And Flipkart has become NOTORIOUS for sketchy, misleading and downright shoddy product descriptions!  One can be forgiven for concluding that Flipkart picked up some illiterate rag pickers and drunkards, gave them a crash course in English, and set them to developing content!

WITH BILLIONS OF U$D IN FUNDING, WHY DOES FLIPKART REFUSE TO HIRE COMPETENT CONTENT WRITERS TO GIVE ACCURATE AND COMPLETE PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS?

See this news clip for yourself regarding Flipkart’s funding:

https://profit.ndtv.com/news/corporates/article-flipkart-gets-record-funding-aims-to-become-100-billion-firm-595265

A company worth$100 billion can only provide service so substandard that it doesn’t even qualify as mediocre?  Seems the big boys at Flipkart caught the Goldman Sachs Syndrome.  Too big to fail.  "To hell with the customers who helped us build this company, screw em all!"

Bad content writing is 1 of many reasons you should NEVER EVER buy clothing from Flipkart.  Last year I bought several garments for my husband and I, only to send back ALMOST EVERYTHING because what was sent had been wrongly or insufficiently described, or was just downright bad quality junk.  Now if I buy clothes online I take it from Myntra or Jabong only.

And, in closing, NEVER EVER buy furniture from Flipkart, as they HAVE NO RETURN policy for furniture- once you get it, you’re stuck with it, even if it’s ugly, broken trash.

And STAY AWAY from one Flipkart vendor called Nilkamal!  They always take 3-8 weeks to send 1 item, they LIE about delivering items that were in fact never received, and they proudly send defective crap, especially their plastic items like plastic cabinets.
