Flipkart bungle day sale

Here’s my billion-day experience at Flipkart.com


You enter a megastore. purchased a product at the listed discount price. committed to pay. went to the check-out counter and completed all payment formalities(COD available) . PURCHASE COMPLETED AND CONFIRMED. You smile that you got a good product at a good deal. a nice 32 inch LED TV. you inform your folks at home and they all rejoice that they will finally have a new TV for home!


A few hours after you have stepped out of the store, you get a rude email to say that your order has been cancelled and you can do nothing about it.


The reason given? "To provide all customers an equal opportunity" and just one more thing. That was the ONLY item I bought from Flipkart. Which other customer purchased fewer products than me and needed to be given that equal opportunity? Why was my sale confirmed? Why was I offered a confirmation and hours later sent an email saying it’s declined? Too many why’s. but that’s not all.


I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumed the item went out of stock.


To my surprise, the same item was available on the same site, at the same time, in the same sale by the same seller. only a few thousand bucks costlier this time. So it was evidently in-stock too. The only "opportunity" seems to be that for the seller.


This was a very neat master-minded systematic flipkart fraud that I experienced. A cheap publicity stunt to say the least.


Never experienced an elaborate modus-operandi to cheat one customer and create publicity for the rest of the world. I have heard of recycling. but you don’t recycle products already purchased by someone else.


It’s fair for anyone to feel cheated. Needless to mention, I’m never returning to flipkart.com. I would like to go on a campaign to illustrate by my personal example about their dirty policies, shoddy customer service, pathetic brand respect and above all, prejudice and disrespect for a confirmed customer order worth thousands.


I wish them well. But I sure wish they’d be more fair to the rest of the customers who put their faith in them.


I hope this review serves, if only for someone to not set their hopes too high till the order is finally delivered to them.
