Flipkart's false shipment policy

I ordered a Samsung Guru Power E2370 (Order ID: OD10210140200) on 9th Feb and I recieved the product by 9th March. What happens in between is a great story.


The first and foremost is their delivery process. I resides in a remote area, so after ordering I requested them to ship the item by speed post or a spcified courier that delivers to my address.


And they replied as follows:


"We regret to inform you that the speed post will not handle the mobile, the courier partner for the mobile shipment are aramex, firstflight and bluedart.


We please request you to provide an alternate address as all the three courier partner are not operating in your given pincode."


Before ordering, I have gone through their shipment terms & conditions. The copy is as follows:


" How will the delivery be done?


We process the national delivery only through reputed couriers. If there is no courier service available in your area, we will ship your item via Government Registered Bookpost or Speedpost.


All Mobile Phones & Gaming Consoles are Insured for theft & damages during transit."


Nowhere it is mentioned that speed post will not handle the mobile. And also there is no mention of courier service name. They have just mentioned "reputed couriers". They better should have mentioned all these things in their delivery conditions along with the courier partner’s name.


And, since they have accepted my order at my given address, I think it is their responsibility to deliver at my given address. I dont understand the reason for asking my alternate address. These are things to be asked before aceepting orders.


It may not be possible to have an alternate address in a city where their three courier partners delivers. But since I had no option, I had to give an alternate address.


But after that their reply came that the item is out of stock. (The GREAT FLIPKART, I bow before you).


Finally the order recieved after almost a month. That too in two installments :). Once it was mobie, secondly it was additional battery that was included in the product.


We request flipkart to look into this matter and include all the necessary points in the shipment T&C.
