I recently purchased two books from flipkart from the savings I made. The delivery was timely but what hurt me most that both books had serious defects in it. First of all the product supplied seem to be ’DEFECTIVE’..the cover print was washed up. Such product surely would not have been able to sell in reputed booksellers shop, so thats why the publisher is selling the books through flipkart to innocent customers who pay thier money first and then only get to see the product.
Secondly the product seem to be of inferior quality. The pages in the book were of very low quality. I had seen the same book brought by my friend at full price. The pages of the book which my friend had bought were of excellent quality. But the same book which I brought in discount from flipkart had newspaper quality pages in it. It is not possible for a reputed publisher to use such low quality paper. Either it is some trick on part of flipkart to fool its customers or it is some milibhagat of publishers and flipkart to fool people. It lead to serious embarrassment of me in front of my friends as they feel I bought some pirated edition of the book inspite paying good money for it.
Thirdly flipkart is not genuine in showing the list of best selling books. Most of the best selling books are not from reputed authors, then how they can be best selling? The best selling list is cooked up to push sales of some authors up, with may involve hefty commission. Also the recent sales list shows the same books as best selling books. How is it possible that all people only purchase the same book repetitively? Also they do not send cash memo with the products and instead send tax invoice which is not taxable. It shows yet another unethical practice of the site.
Lastly the price is very high when compared to other sites. All other sites sell most of the books at lower price than flipkart but they are not getting noticed due to the grapevine about good quality of service and low prices at flipkart. Even the delivery service of other sites is good. The delivery service does not depends upon the seller but on where the customer stays.
Flipkart does not deserves itself to be called ’Amazon’ of India. Plz don’t belittle amazon cause they are far ahead and transparent then flipkart.
So I would give my thumbs down to flipkart.
