Flipkart is one such company that raises your expectations very high from themselves but unfortunately fail to do anything about it, in fact after the purchase you find them as any other nasty vendor round the corner. What Flipkart currently doing is investing too much in promotions and advertisements to allure gullible buyers which once I myself was made to fall for. I have purchased more than few number of items from the e-commerce site ranging from books to mobile phones to washing machine and much more.
What irritated me was the as usual, cold, full of excuses treatment by the customer service when one of my expensive Tablets purchased on the site went disfunctioning within 60 days of purchase. Even though the product being in the warranty period I ran pillar to post to get it fixed to no avail. Well I forgot to mention the promises from three different senior managers of resolving the issue on priority with no action.
Finally without disclosing the trick here I got it done somehow and stopped checking the site and the app since then for any new purchases. I initially purposely purchased from this site and paid little extra bucks just because I wanted to support an Indian company but now I have switched to their foreign counterpart as I found them better supportive and understanding whereas most of the time Amazon is cheaper than Bansals.
Flipkart at least for its origins sake is an Indian company though it is founded in Singapore and has its headquarters in Bangalore, however as we know this is all done strategically to meet the specific guidelines for the nature of business they are in.
Flipkart for their convenience auto cancels the orders without any information and then try to appease you with their useless compensations that can only be used for buying with WS Retail only. Issue regarding address, they track it through PIN codes(Customer Care Says that), once I asked a delivery on a different address but by usual practice keyed in the old PIN, they auto cancelled the order when I teacked it down that consignment was heading to altogether to different city, but when I registered for the priority delivery option the systems never prompted that your PIN code does not come under one day delivery and second you need to buy only from select vendors. They are cheap and cheat as any roadside hawkers, not to mention they deducted a portion on pro rata from my paid registration and on top the sales fellow tried to convince me to keep it registered. Lol. This review will remain incomplete if I do not mention the most annoying thing that how much ever you try to get rid of their notifications the App pushes it on until you make up your mind to uninstall it.
I wish the company shifts it focus from aggressive sales campaigns to deliberate efforts for the retention of old customers and do something to keep new ones. Otherwise it is not far that this fast growth fase will soon get over for Indian e-commerce giant, moreover the Relience entry should give them some wisdom as well as fear gibes to be careful and to bring some CRM policy changes.
If you have read the complete review, and it was helpful please dont forget to rate, comment and if wish to share it.
