It was last Christmas when I gifted my wife a Samsung Galaxy S4. I brought the phone from FlipKart(I and my brother have brought over 10 phones thru FlipKart). The very first day, my wife raised issues with the phone.
After about 7 to 10 days, I decided to file a return - and immediately the support folks called me back and told me that it was a simple issue and we can reset the phone. I said that if that is the whole issue then it is fine. I reset the phone. The phone still had problems - like apps open automatically, apps close automatically while working, phone automatically restarts and so on - I immediately tried to re-return the phone, but FlipKart has blocked that option of returning the phone.
I did not care much about it though as I had to travel on work. During May, my wife again complained that the phone was HORRIBLE to use and needs some repair. I wrote to Flipkart, and the support folks promptly responded and suggested me to go to the service center for repair.
I went to Samsung service center, and the person asked me if the phone was ever opened? I said No, and this was the first time that I am getting the phone to the service center.
He, to my surprise, immediately told me that it was a refurbished mobile that was shipped to me. I immediately called Flipkart - well, as usual they kept telling stories that they never sell refurbished mobile. Well, Sir, I didn’t even know that it was a refurbished mobile; Samsung service center told me.
This taught me a very important lesson. NEVER BUY MOBILE PHONE FROM FLIPKART - they are refurbished and sold. I brought an IPad from Amazon and is perfect.
