This is an absolute gem of an album. The album contains a superb collection of tunes on the flute, from a fast techno mix, pure classical, folk and western and choir. A few of the tunes also feature superb percussion by shivamani.
The bestest tune according to me of the album is called’Chennai Rain’. Still get goosebumps when I listen to this tune.In the fast tunes, the percussion of shivamani gives the flute a very dynamic and peppy feel. In other tunes, especially the folk, the deep sonorous flute gives a focus to the mind and makes u feel ponderous and it is truly touching.
its a wonder that its the same instrument yet it can take you from deeply soulful appreciation to fast and absolutely invigorating moods. Hats off and deeeep deeep deeeep bows a million times to naveen.he is a master and a magician with the flute. If I could play anything like that in a lifetime I would give anything for it.
Overall, I feel If you havent listened to this album you are missing heavily on life.
But do listen when you are alone or when u have time and mood to appreciate. a little serious music to put it that way. Probably to be played on headphones.
