Good music is bliss

When I was doing my graduation we had a paper on radio and we were taught that no other media is as effective as the radio for it reaches people of all standards and you don’t need to move a muscle to listen to it (unlike watching television where you give a lot of strain to the eyes) and still you get all the latest updates. That is the Power of radio.

After a long days work all the soul asks for is a little bit of relaxation and that is exactly what you get when you switch on to the radio and listen to some blissful music.

I have always relished listening to the M time on FM rainbow in chennai. I prefer being loyal to the Fm rainbow, not because the other channels are not good or competent enough but none of the other channels play english songs and it is for the same reason that I stick to listening to the rainbow atleast from 7.00 to 9.00 pm.

I know you are giving me the “you are not born to Peter and Mary are you?” look but there is no harm in listening to English music and enriching one’s knowledge of music, is there? When our own music directors get their inspiration (their tunes I mean) from listening to these.

And the RJ’s do a good job of keeping the listeners entertained

Some of my personal favorites are Joshua, Shaju, Rahul, and Vinitha (in no particular order ofcourse). They are my favorites for the sheer simplicity, originality and spontaneity with which they conduct their shows. Their selection of tracks are good and they don’t put on an accent (and thank God they don’t heartlessly murder two languages simultaneously and call it style)

So if ever you feel like cooling it out by listening to nice music, chennaites don’t hesitate to tune in to 107.1 fm and shake your leg to the tunes that play on air.
