Placed my first order on Foodpanda.com and I was in for a surprise. Surprise of my evening being spoiled and order not delivered. Placed order at 8:45 pm on 5 May 2013 (my first & last order at foodpanda) from Nirulas restaurant in Dwarka New Delhi. I even paid online using my credit card. First surprise was to see order timing MANIPULATED to 8:53 pm, when I placed the order at around 8:45 pm. I even have SMS from foodpanda.com for time around 8:45 pm!! On their website it was written that Nirulas will take 50 mins to deliver. Its kinda long but I thought it is ok. I got SMS that my order will be delivered in 60 mins!!! How that changed, after I placed the order, I have no idea. By 9:50pm nothing arrived.
So I called the customer service of foodpanda.com and they called me back after 2-3 mins and told me that my order is on its way and will be delivered in 5 mins. When nothing showed up by 10:10 pm or so I called their customer service again. Now they stopped picking my phone!! I called at least 6-7 times. I even tried the chat on their website, no response!! I have had enough and we managed some food at home and ate. Now food finally comes at around 10:30 pm and Im told that there was lot of rush.
Well ok I can understand the rush and all at the restaurant but how come foodpanda customer service stopped picking the phones??? If there was rush, why they didnt informed in between. Why they lied to me that order will be there in 5 mins. I played tough with the restaurant guys and rejected to accept the order and asked for a refund. Finally, got call from Foodpanda.com customer service that they are sorry and money will be refunded to my card. Lets see how that goes.
All I can say is that this is a crap service. DONT use it. Just call the restaurant directly, at least you can hold them responsible. Here both sides start blaming each other.
