Ford fiesta is a nice car with great looks, nice fuel economy, spacious interiors, great music system, powerful ac, large boot space but the only thing which pinches is the extremely costly repair. The money saved on fuel ultimately drains out on the repairs in a big way. I have replaced the AC coil which helps to cool the interiors 2 times in each summer season.
The coil costs you about Rs 7500 apart from the fitment charges the dealer takes as they have to virtually takeout the whole dashboard from inside and it takes a whole day to refit. This is a poor design by ford people.The ford dealers are totally unprofessional in working, the service advisors really misadvice the customers, they just want to extract money.For any part they never recommend it for repair but rather to replace.Most times they dont have proper tools to work.
Some time back I got a snag, the battery symbol wont go as I turned on the engine, so the mechanic at ford agency told me it was due to a small plug which connects the alternator, so I asked him to replace the plug, but to my shock I was told to replace the whole wiring as single plug is not available and they put up an estimate of about rs 13000, I got the fault repaired from outside in just Rs 100. Shock absorbers have to replaced early as engine is heavy, same goes for tyres.
One thing I would recommend to all is that for any repairs never blindly trust a ford dealer, always ask from some other experienced mechanic so that you can really know if they are not misguiding you. Also think twice before buying a second hand fiesta as it will always demand more repair
