Writing this review after using Ford Figo for 3300 kms for the last 4 months. Wanted to write the review after using it in all possible scenarios. Today I completed a long drive on my vehicle.
Let us look at the pros:
When I bought this vehicle I was looking for the mileage figure in all mouthshut reviews but today in my review I would discuss about more important aspect ie the engine and its stability. I drove 360kms one way at an outside temperature of around 38-40 degrees. I have given a break of only 15 mins for my vehicle.
Consistently maintained a speed of 80kmph for around 200 kms and 100-110kmph for around 150kms. I drove the vehicle for 7 hours and the Engine performance was stunning. I have not felt any jerk or vibrations in my vehicle throughout the journey or at speeds of 130kmph.
AC is very good and it cools the entire cabin within 2-3 minutes, I maintain the AC at quarter level else it would be chilling inside the cabin There is ample space and legroom inside the cabin, boot space is amazing which is on par with sedan. I have transported my AC outside cabin in my ford figo. Boot is so biggggg. Figo can accommodate 4 people without any hassle in the back seat and 3 people without any congestion.
We dont feel any noise in the cabin when the engine is running though its powered by diesel engine. I traveled in swift and polo diesel cars, figo performs better in this dept. I get a mileage of 17kmpl (with 40-50% ac on) in the city. This mileage is under bumper to bumper traffic on monsoon roads. Mileage would drop to 16kmpl with full ac. I got a mileage of 20.5 (with full AC on) on highway. Swift Diesel and Ritz Diesel are better in this dept by 1-2 more kms.
First service is done for the vehicle one month back and service matched my expectations. Can comment on the service dept only when it is paid, but my colleagues say that it would cost around 2-2.5k per service.
Let us look at the cons or areas of improvement:
Gear shift, I recently drove i10 petrol, gear shift is amazing. I know I should nt compare petrol and diesel variant but I feel the gear shift can be
Improved in Figo:
Steering, it is a bit heavy when compared to other counterparts but it is not a problem. Pickup, sometimes I feel the pick up in the second gear lags for 5-10 seconds that too with AC on, we feel other cars are cruising ahead. But post that the engine revives in the 2nd and 3rd gear. Maybe this might be specific to my driving.
