Hi, I own ford figo diesel titanium and maruti swift VDi, as I drive both the vehicles I would like to tell some differences between the two cars. figo has good seating i.e good thigh and back support and comfort, road visibility is good, as I drive mostly in city(hyderabad) In figo I find that changing gears while downshift or upshift the car is frequently fought with sudden stoppage of the car due to engine shut down(steering locks) and I need to start the car repeatedly which is embarrasing. This may be due to lag in the engine power in 2nd and 3rd gears which is not found in the peppy engine of maruti swift VDi, whereby I can move swift vdi in 2nd gear from idle. Other differences between figo and maruti swift are turning radius is more in figo(4.9m)compared to swift(4.7m), and ground clearance in swift is(170mm) compared to figo(168mm), coming to engine power swift diesel has 74 BHP and figo diesel has 69 BHP. Regarding mileage swift vdi gives 14 kmpl with a.c. on and 18 kmpl without ac, figo diesel gives 13 kmpl with a.c.on and 17 kmpl without a.c. in city driving. Apart from this both the vehicles are good in highway drive.
