Hi All,
Today I completed first 5000 Kms on my Figo 1.2 Exi Petrol, purchased in April 2011. Ive mentioned below all the good and the bad about the car:
Pros:
Good interior spacing
Comfortable seating
Spacious boot
Cons:
A very low mileage in city. This car is even lighter than Maruti Swift, but when it comes to mileage, it gives no more than 10Kmpl in city in petrol, and max. of 11.5 kmpl on highways. I have driven Maruti Swift, Mahindra Logan Petrol in the past 6 years, and both the cars gave me 15-16kmpl in the city. Earlier, the Ford dealer claimed that the car would give a min of 14-15 in city, but reality has been something else. Now when I went back complaining about it, they are saying that 10-12 is the max, and 14kmpl in petrol is an exceptional case. My question is "was the sales person uneducated about the product that he/she is selling to the customer?"
Like several other people have mentioned in all the forums and discussions, there is a design flaw in the headlight. The reflectors do not serve the purpose for which they are installed in the vehicle. It becomes really tough to drive in rains and highways. Please read my words "U R endangering the lives of your near and dear ones if you are drivning this car on highways during night". Some days before, an official statement came from Ford India saying that they would provide the existing Figo owners an option to get the headlight assembly replaced. But it was just an announcement, and even the dealers do not know about any such plans of Ford India.
The ground clearance of the vehicle is very low, and the plastic mudflaps are very hard. You can b very sure that the car would definitely touch a Speed breaker when loaded with 4-5 passengers.
Within the first two months of purchasing the vehicle, the battery drained out all of a sudden, even when I drove to my office the same morning(around 20 kms.). When I called the Customer care, the first question they asked was "Do you have sufficient fuel in your car?". Anyways, they later found the problem with the wiring, which was faulty, and got it rectified.
I hope the above details are helpful to the people who are planning to go for a Figo. I tell you guys, they would really make you feel the difference.
Thanks,
Shiva
