Yesterday I booked silver colour 1.2 ford figo ZXI after 2 test drives. Well this car fascinated me the day i saw it in the net. Went for the test drive here in kolkata victoria ford..the sales representative was very good and he immediately arranged a test drive for me.
Well the 1st impression which i got inside the car was awesome.interiors were impressive and the coral dashboard was looking different but nice too. When i put on the engine it was just soundless and typical ford style and the sound and outer vibration was not felt inside the cabin at all.the pick up was descent and car was matching with the change of gears. Gearbox is smooth and very much synchronized.
The dash colour was very uncommon but the guy said that it is optional and black is also available.
Well I have to admit that the A.C was chiller and the cooling was superb as ford has advised that it has extra large compressor and it proved to be right. Power steering is very smooth though really not like the one i found in i20 car. But very responsive as the person said me that it is hydraulic power steering and it curves as much as it is needed. Well the odometer has many intelligent features like it will tell u the distance to empty which means that how much km the car will run actually with the present fuel in the tank. Boot space is also very descent in comparison to the other hatches available in the market.
Driver seat height adjustment is also a cool feature.also i found the ground clearance to be good and the bonnet can be seen while driving. Music system with blue tooth facility is of great help.the guy paired his phone with the music system and played songs stored in his memory book and also dialed a number and it was showing on the music system screen. Well a boon for people who have to keep attending calls while driving. Also the programmable key less entry and PATS is of great use as it keeps the car safe and only the original car keys can open the car. Well all these features in a very very descent price forced me to book this sweet gem and i will be posting my review again after getting the delivery.
So all i can say that if u have been bored with other 1.2 cousins like maruti swift, very badly designed ritz or an overly priced Hyundai i20 in which u pay at least a lakh of rupees more and get only these features except an adjustable steering.This is the car to go for. Also mileage as said by the sales guy will be 12 to 13 in city and 14-15 in highways in petrol and 18-20 in diesel, go for diesel if you travel more than 1500 kms in a month.
After sale service can be expected to be good with cheaper spare parts as the car is been manufactured in Chennai and ford is so confident about the build of this car that they have claimed that you will have to take this car to the service centres only once a year. 1st service at 2500 kms/3 months whichever is earlier and surprisingly second at 10000 kms/1 year. So looking forward to take the delivery of this beautiful car. But yes if the windows could had rolled out more and rear power windows could had been provided and optional alloy wheels and fog lights in the top model and a remote with the music system it could easily be the CAR OF THE YEAR 2010(of course small car) though still it has the features to be.
Ohh yes, I forgot to say that my dealer VICTORIA FORD provided me 2 IPL tickets too saying ford is providing this to those who book the car before 10th april.
