I bought my car on feb 2012 after waiting for 7 months for swift vdi , which didn’t come thanks to strike at maruti and huge backlogs. I got my figo in 15 days. Which was a good thing. Pre sales experience was quite good.. I enjoyed my car for few days and then I got a call from dealer to get the car to service centre next day for some checkup strange it was only few days old.
They didnt even explain for what reason . The PDI had already been done. When I went to service station next day they said this lot of vehicles had to be checked for few things... Again not telling actual reason.. I didnt interrogate them further.. Months passed by and km added up slowly at an avg of 30 km a day mostly is city and occasional highway drives ..found the car quite a pleasure to drive on highways due to stiff suspension and low centre of gravity.
Especially on curved stretches But at slow speeds in city driving lots of road undulations gets into the car especially when driving alone without much load. I am getting a descent mileage of 17 in city with a/c on. Engine power feels adequate for relaxed driving. But you can feel the strain when loaded with a/c on.I have taken it out on two long drives of 1000 + km and got a mileage of 19 kmpl driving at around 90 to 120 kmh.. Now the not so good stuff begins to creep up. I start getting, rattling noise from near boot while turning the car.I took it back to service guys .. They identified it as some problem with seat latch and they some quick fix... Again months pass by now having driven around 7000 km I start getting same rattle , but this time its more and seems to be coming from rear wheel arches... Yet to take it to get checked...
Final verdict : I feel the car is built to a price especially in quality. Body rattles within a year of ownership.. There are much better choices in market like swift, polo and fabia which are much better built. Worth investing a little more and go for these brands. I have been in my friends swift which has run 1 lakh km and it is much better than a figo run 10000 km !!!!
