I bought my Fusion in Feb ’05 and just love it. After driving a ’’city-SUV’’ or UAV (Urban Activity Vehicle) as they call it, I hate driving a sedan.
If you require an SUV or a car for city use (especially in crowded areas) this is your car (if you dont mind shelling out Rs.7 Lacs!)
Best part is that in Hyderabad, there aren’t many Fusions, so it feels nice to have one :-))) (some people think it’s an imported car).
Space is generous, engine is awesome and looks (more so from angles as opposed to just the front or back) are stylish and international. Another major plus point is the ease with which one can sit and get down. You need to make some effort to sit/get down from other cars- Low in sedans and too high in proper SUVs/Jeeps. This is just the right height.
There is one feature I love, which even the dealers didn’t know about. If your front wiper is on and you put the car in reverse gear, the rear wiper automatically switches on. This is very thoughtful and convenient.
One thing the designers overlooked was the positioning of the keyhole on the boot. Even for a man of average height, one has to bend a little to access it. Another thing that needs to be improved is the fuel lid cap. There is no spring action which keeps the lid closed. I had to get it fixed thrice!!
All the colours (escept silver) look great, especially with tints. Surpirsingly, silver is one colour that I personally didn’t like on the fusion.
