Thinking of going to Consumer Forum

Well.. guys I bought the Ford FUsion Plus with ABS in November. Black Colour, I had the glasses tinted in Jetblack and Two DIn Installed. The car sure became a headturner here in Kanpur.

But good things dont last very long do they?

I am enclosing an email I sent to Ford India today regarding the problem I faced, please read it and advise how I should approach the problem.....

Dear Sir,

I own a ford fusion plus with ABS registration number UP78 BA 3601. This car was bought from Swarn Ford, Kanpur on 03/11/2005.

We drove the car to New Delhi on 15/11/2005, and on the way we found that there was some kind of an oil leakage on the front passenger side mat. We took the car to Harpreet Ford, Moti Nagar in New Delhi, where we were told that the oil leaking was coolant which was seeping through the defective heating core. On our request they temporarily fixed the problem by bypassing the heater core so that we could come back to Kanpur.

On coming back to Kanpur I informed Swarn Ford of the problem and told them to source the heater core from the company so that the same could be replaced. On 22/12/2005 I recieved a call from Swarn Ford informing me that the part had arrived and I should bring in the Car for replacement. On 23/12/2005 I took the car to the workshop where I was informed that the car would be delivered to me on 24/12/2005 evening.

When I reached on 24/12/2005 I found that the car with the entire dashboard off, and I was told that the car would be given to me on Monday since they had too much traffic on Saturday.

When I again reached the workshop on Monday i.e. today, I was told that the car would take another 15-20 days, since they could not start the vehicle because they did not have the device (CVM) required to program the car without which they could not start the engine. I am now totally stranded without a vehicle. The Service Manager Mr Lamba was not even courteous enough to offer me a seat let alone a replacement car.

I would like to ask Ford India the following questions:

  1. I have been given a car with the ’’quality checked’’ sticker with a fault so major, which could have caused a serious hazard. What if the car would have overheated in the middle of nowhere? Or the engine could have caught fire?

  2. The company has not even bothered to equip its dealers with a device (CVM)so important? How is the dealer managing accidental jobs, and jobs which require opening of the dashboard?

  3. The staff at the workshop is so ill trained that they dont even know how they will approach a problem? Why did they take the car when they knew that they did not have a CVM and they cannot re-start the vehicle. Why have I been left stranded without a car with no fault of mine?

Please note my belief in the ’’Ford’’ brand has been severely shattered. I dont think I will ever recommend a ford to another person.

Also, I am taking this case to the consumer forum, for selling products not in line with the quality promised, and not giving the promised after sales service. Unless my problem is solved immediately.

Thanks
