Ford Fusion TDCi DuraTorq

I recently purchased a ford fusion TDCi Duratorq from Harpreet Ford in Gurgaon. I was a little surprised that there were no reviews for this car. So I though I should do the honors. First of all I want to banish one pre-conceived notion that people have regarding this car, ie its far too expensive for a hatchback. The truth is that this car has more cabin space than any other car in its competition. Also, its not one of those weak tin bodied smallish hatchbacks which we are tired of seeing on the roads. This is an MUV (multi utility vehicle). This car oozes presence on the road. Let me zoom you through the the pros and cons.

Pros: Like I mentioned, the cabin capacity is admirable. Its got really broad tyres (15") comparable to SUVs. It gives you a very secure feeling driving this car. Even at high speeds close to 100 km/hr, you feel absolutely secure. Its an amazing car for a cruise. The leg space at the back is also good, which is usually not the stregnth of many hatchback’s. The airconditioning seems to be very effective, since I haven’t heard too many complaints from people sitting at the back seat. The "Distance to empty" is a great feature which tells you how many Kms you can go before the fuel tank goes dry. The place where this car beats others fair and square is the ground clearance. You dont need to put your car to a complete halt for those annoying steep speed breakers. Currently I am getting an economy **of 16 km/ltr (within city limits) which to me is very satisfying as I have to travel 40 Kms on a daily basis.

Cons: Its not the best choice for people looking for a great pickup machine. This car is not slow by any stretch of imagination, but its true performance is evident after you reach the 4th gear. Also, I found that the engine noise is a tad higher than the fiesta although both these cars boast of the same engine. The tyre noise inside the cabin is also evident at times. It was a good thing that they are providing a stereo system free now, which negates these little quirks.

All in all, if you want a bold looking, sturdy and a good performance car then look no further than Fusion. Its truly a no nonsense car.
