Ford Ikon1.6 is one of the best car in its class, Ikon 1.6 engine has a "yamaha" formula. Basically ford cars have superb engine design with great handling even at high speeds, Usally people who has driving as their passion will love this car.
This wildfire is a overall performer. This car has one great advantage that it has a kerb weight of 975kgs, with 1.6L producing 92horses, SOHC and 132NM torque, This car can mock any car in its class, even honda city Vtec which has a greater power to weight ratio feels difficult with ikon 1.6
This car is basically designed from Ford’s original Zetec-S engine family , this car was introduced in southafrica after a huge success, this car was moved to India, this engine was originally designed for 1992 World Rally championship. The only untoward for this car is interior is not that much attractive. Ikon has a great suspension especially designed for indian roads, unfortunately Ford cars has poor resale value in India.
Another headache is Ford has a poor after sales service, Ford engineers could not able to rectify the problem and they replace someother parts instead of replacing the repaired ones, I have written a complaint regarding on this to Ford Managing Director.I have planned to fit an K&N air filter for this car with Cold air intake system to increase the BHP for this car.
