Hai friends,
Last week I went for a test drive in d brand new Ford Ikon 1.4l dura torq diesel sedan. My prime attractions were the price range and mileage of the sedan. To tell d truth, the sedan was not impressive in most aspects. Considerable changes has been made on d front head lights and is somewhere between fiesta and old ikon(only in looks). Terrible vas d interior, the dash bord vas lacking something and a total emptiness persisted on the entire dash board. The worst thing vas, a part of the dash bord where v hav d HVAC regulators is projecting forward which considerably decreased the leg room. The steering dia. ia not more dan dat f Waganor. I dont kno y, ford inter changed the position of wiper and head light(dim/ bright) switches, mite b a part of innovation and is common among all Ford cars. I swear dat a heavy person finds total difficulty in sitting on the co-driver seat. Its also difficult for such a person 2 enter and exit and also he has to fold his legs and sit cross feeted. If u r a person above 5 10" and bulk in size or aged forget the car.
Coming to the engine perfomence, engine is d same as dat of Fiesta, but not the body and dat stood as a main disadvantage. The body is not compactable vit d engine and dey are in mis propotion. This is very clear because u can feel the vibrations if u keep ur hand on the gear levear even on the top-gear, a humming sound is also dere and the car is not a quiet one. The body weight has been reduced by 150 kgs and these problems mite b an outcome of it.This could lead 2 driftin/skiddin/topplin f car under sudden breakin. The power vas good and it showed no power drop ven A.C vas switched on suddenly, qucik acceleration is also possible, breaks are good and suspension cant b determined in just a test drive and u b d driver. Gears are syncronus and smooth oter dan d odd vibrations. If the co-driver has 2 sit somvat comfortably he has 2 push his seat back vich reduces the rear legrrom. boot space is good.
