Just bought an Ikon 1.6 and its WOW. Just put a little pressure on the accelerator and it zoooms.
The main consideration for buying was the amazing power it has. Really a sxi machine it touches 100 before I realize that I am still in 3rd gear. In sheer power it makes Hyundai Accent appear like a distant relative., though it lacks in rear seat comfort.
SXi is the bigger brother of Ikon flair and great for city and highways. The fabric used is good, the instrument pannel very informative and the place holders like cup holders all at the right distance, so that a driver can easily access all without diverting his attention from the real task ( The pleasure of driving a SXi).
Drivers seating position is upright and the outside view is clear. The power assist steering is very responsive and helpful in the mad city traffic. Gear shift is easy, though not required much. The car has a spacious front seats, when it comes to rear seat space, my fathers Accent wins hands down, also the rear seats feel a little bumpy as compared to accent. Ford would do good by having a better suspension. Boot space is good.
The power and excitement of this car comes at a price -- its a very thirsty can, gives about 8km/L on an average. In a city like Bangalore where the petrol price is 42.5 Rs/L the excessive fuel consumption can pinch. At the same time in Bangalore we dont travel as much as I would travel in Delhi so this gives some relief to my pocket.
Overall a great car - A true drivers car. Real SXi
