The first thing that can be said about this place is that it truly lives upto its name.Theres no doubt about that.
Its a must visit place for all those who are nature lovers.For the ones who are very much used to the sophisication of star hotels and their ambience can very well stay away.
This resort is located at Kellar a few kms away from Munnar.Its away from the hustle bustle of the town and is propbably the only magnificient place of its kind on the whole stretch of the road.
The interior road on which it is located itself is so grand in terms of natural beauty that no words are enough to describe it.lovely road with dense forests on both sides.tall trees nesting cardamom plants and many other kind of trees.
The only and only sound that you can hear are those of crickets and other birds and of course the force of the gushing waters in the natural pools in the forest.their sounds against the rocks.Other than these sounds nothing else can be heard.
The rooms have a rustic charm.they do not have any fans or air conditioning as everything has been tastefully done to make it natural.You dont even feel the need of any kind of artificial means as the natural air itself serves the purpose.Still.they do have small fans in case someones not able to put up with the idea of not having any fan in the room.
The best part about the room is the view of the forest it offers.Theres a small balcony provided with each room where one can sit and have coffee or just relax listening to the sounds and watching the sights of the forest.the resort is surrounded by only and only the forest and nothing esle.
It was an absolute delight to wake up to the sounds of the birds esp[ecially the cuckoo which unlike the ones in the city used to sing justttt like a humun whistle.it took us a whole day to realise that it was coming from a bird!Amazing music.
There are two small halls for dining and breakfast.not grand but just mediocre.We felt just at home in this place because of its very very co operative staff and homely ambience.The staff is just too good and one doesnt even need to communicate thru the phone.They are just there around all the time!They do take time for some reason to fulfill the food orders but then that doesnt seem a major problem considering all the mentioned factors.
The food is okay.the resort is not known for its culinery delights.
There is a natural pool also located besides the resort with a very beautiful out of the painting kind of a approach path.Bonfires are arranged on request basis.Outside the reception there is a swing and ample parking space.
Its a nature lovers delight to stay at this place.You can never feel more close to nature than here.Th sounds.the long walks.the water gushing against the rocks.the stillness all around.the greenery surrounding us.the lovely balcony view.the cuckoos song in the morning.everything is an unforgettable experience in itself!
