Music has always been around. Even before radio people were singing tunes in their homes and playing home made instruments.
Then came radio, tv, then records, remember those? I have still quite a collection of records that I can not find to replace on cassettes. At one time I started transferring them to cassettes myself but I had hundreds of albums and it was a lengthy project that I never finished.
These days it is hard to find a system with a turn table on but there are some out there. The rest of my collection I will keep as is. These records are very old and still in great shape and some are signed so they are not ones that I will ever part with and here and there I will use the turntable and listen to older songs.
Cassettes have better quality sound than do records but they can break very easily. I do have many of these also but tend to play them less to preserve them. If you copy cassettes and want to be safe with your favorites make a couple of copies of each. If a tape should break simply splice it together with scotch tape on both sides. You will hear a little skip when it comes to that part of the cassette but will be able to enjoy the rest of it. Be sure and punch out those little tabs that are at the top of the cassette to prevent accidental erasure. If you should ever want to record over them again you can put a little piece of scotch tape there and it will then allow you to re-use it. This is also good to do on ones that you are tired of and you can record some new music on them.
Now we have cds which are virtually impossible to destroy if you handle them properly and dont get scratches on them. With cd units and cassette units be sure to keep the heads clean and free of dust and grime so that they work properly.
Every style of music has changed over the years also. Myself I am a country fan among others and I enjoy the old as well as the new.
Music can relax you, put you in a party mood or many other moods. When I feel frustrated I will put on some music and sing along and that really relieves the frustration.
