I got myself registered for Bypass Surgery when Sahara Hospital declared me a fit case for the surgery. My all three arteries were blocked diagnosed by Arteries Angiography. I was much influenced by the best treatment given the Hospital especially when the operations have to be done by Dr Y.K. Mishra, Chief Surgeon.
So I was admitted on 8.8.2009 for CABG under the treatment of Surgeon Mishra. As I was much confident of his skills and his past record of more than 5000 CABG and other heart surgeries. I was admitted on 7th of August 09 and undergone various tests including diabetic test . Next day when I was on stature being carried to OT felt luckiest person with out any anxiety, nervousness. They put me an injection of my right upper hip and attending sister was in a good mood and her smile with caring and assurance was so helpful that I could not know when I got unconscious. I got my sense in the recovery room and my family members cheered me up and Post Operative Team informed that the operation as successful.
But the experiences in the recovery room were on some points bad, specially sisters lost their mental control and behaved like nursing staff of Government Hospitals. I dreamt bad and can’t disclose how painful was in recovery room, not for my other ailments, but mental recovery. Later I was informed that this was due to injectable sedative medicines and made me annoyed for demand of water.
Experience in the semi private ward were also as I was day and night dreaming and really painful. My mental conditions were so bad that I said to my son that next bed neighbor is no more and in the night attending Doctor and nurses were searching my room to kill me by petrol. My son could not sleep the whole night seeing my uneasy. Ultimately I called the Nurse and took sedative dose and the next morning I was relieved from the hospital healthy heart, happy but those nightmares I could not forget till now, as they were due to seductive after affects.
Through this review, I want to suggest the Hospitals, especially to make the patient aware of all such postoperative daydreaming and nightmare dreams, which makes them nervous, afraid at any time, causing the attendants, who are equally unaware and feels mentally and physically disturbed. They also find themselves helpless in counseling the patient.
Now I want to confirm that my heart is strong enough and I do daily morning walk day 30-40 minutes but chest pain(not related to heart) persuades me to take twice Tramadole painkiller. The external stitches were removed but inner soluble stitches take 6 to 10 months to relieve from chest pain. But no problem as I am a youth(in case of heart) of 57 years with all optimistic and positive approach to live my life happily ever after.
My suggestions to all persons going treatment are very simple:Be positive and restrict your eating habits to make your good lifestyle.
