I had to take my mom to Fortis Bannerghatta for giddiness, imbalance and blurring of eye. The doctors in the emergency ward checked her for 5 minutes and sent us home saying it is vertigo and gave medicines for 5 days. After one week my mom again had the same issue and almost became unconscious. Hence we took her again to Fortis Bannerghatta. They took MRI and found out that it is due to a stroke. They handed the case over to Dr. Chandran Gnanamuthu. He advised hospitalization and discharged after 2 days.
After 2 days my mom was again feeling unwell and started vomiting. We again took her to Fortis and to the same doctor. He said he was unsure and he has to study the case as the clot in her brain has become larger and again admitted for 8 days. Before getting discharge the PRO came and made me sign in to Google to write a nice review about them. I was unsure about what to write as I was not confident with the doctors treatment. since the PRO lady was standing beside me, I was forced to write a nice review. Once I was out of the hospital my gut feeling said that the decision to Fortis was a mistake and I deleted my post. He discharged her after 8 days and asked for follow up. After the discharge, my mom never showed any improvement and lost interest in everything. Again after 2 months, my moms health was worsening and about to go unconscious.
I took her again to the Fortis emergency. The doctor over there said that there is no problem they could see and asked us to go home. I forcefully made them take MRI and doctors and nurses in the emergency laughed at us and spoke to us in an insulting way. When the result came, it was what I expected. Again a stroke has happened. They asked us to admit her thereafter calling the same doctor Chandran Gnanamthu (the neurologist) He never bothered to turn up and informed the doctors in the emergency ward to make the patient admitted and hell be coming only the next day.
I understood that if I continue the treatment there, shell never get well and will end up losing her. I immediately shifted her to Apollo and got her treated. The doctor over there cured her to the best. Now she shows very good signs of improvement. Very much thanks to the Apollo Doctors. Dr. Chandran is the worst doctor ever. The medicines he had prescribed was all old age medicines and does not know the combination and also does not know to take the correct judgment. He does not even know the course required to cure a simple stroke. He does not know to detect the intensity of a stroke by seeing the report or MRI results. He understands the intensity of the stroke by asking the patient if she is able to view the full angle of a room. The follow up he prescribes is always with a blood and urine test which comes to 5k and which is not required. He was not even able to prescribe a simple bp medicine without asking one of the normal physicians over there whos name is Sudha Menon. She herself was not sure of the bp medicine and finally prescribed the medicine named Telma 40 mg and to before food. It was only after going to Apollo, we found that the medicine had to be taken only after food. I would like to give a zero for Fortis Bannerghatta and minus one for Dr. Chandran Gnanamthu. I dont understand why do they keep such doctors there. The degree which he has is only in studies but unable to diagnose and prescribe proper medicine. His treatment and medicines are only going backward. Not even one up to date medicine was prescribed. Apollo neuro doctors and others are up to date medicine wise and in treatment wise.
I would not recommend this hospital and this doctor to anyone. Such poor doctors in such big hospitals. Shame to Fortis!
