Its not bad............

Hi all,

I really liked this film ’’Freaky Chakra’’ better than many of its peers like Leela, Ek choti se love story etc.

By peer I meant the kind of films which dont have a big banner or big stars and which is not exactly a three hour film.

I am big fan of Deepti since her chamko and saath saath days. One of the rare actresses who is average looking but so very pleasant and approachable.

Anyway, the first half of the movie is unlike her charming self and a little dull. But I thought it was very natural showing a frustrated and lonely widow screaming endlessly at the watchman due to water problems.

Deepti’s disposition showed her as a ’’no nonsense’’, orderly lady with her physical needs unsatisfied and who satisfies herself thru phone calls.

But shes every bit conservative in the first half and doesnt really entertain herself by other bold means and even vehemently insults her ailing neighbour who keeps approaching her with some excuse or the other.

Shes this typical busy lady during the day (decorating the dead) who is always fighting with the menacing sardarji kids and, at night she transforms into a quiet , lonely soul who likes to feel shes with someone and hence, showers and dresses herself. And after all the efforts she only gets to listen to some depressed voice on phone who talks pervert stuff.

Deepti is every bit Mrs Thomas who has lost all charm in life, who doesnt see the humour in water shortage, who hates the chirpy, laughing children and cant enjoy their childish pranks.

The second half shows her falling for a younger man and making her understand that life has other bright colors.

She takes interest in wearing trendy clothes, leaving her hair loose and enjoys the same naughty irksome pranks played by the building kids and even buys gifts for the watchman.

The young lad (in Deepti’s life )is a promising actor and goodlooking and infuses energy in the film with his peppy self. As expected the two get caught up in the moment and make out.

In today’s films, directors and stars have started potraying the true modern single woman living in urban India who no longer broods for her dead husband and lives a solitude life.

Todays woman tries to find solace in a new mate and moves on (so what if the mate is half her age)

I liked the movie.

I liked the comic sequences, Deepti , the young guy and even her shady neighbour who always pretends he is sick.

I didnt like the narrator though(I dont know his name, he starrs in Jism). He was extremely irritating and did some ugly things like ......... uff cant force myself to write it.See it for yourself..........

But overall the movie is cute and watchable and the songs are hummable .

The kinds you can watch during late afternoons with tea and snacks and turn off once its done and instantly forget.
