A MUST FOR EVERY INDIAN

Although, I had heard about the book, I got hold of it only recently through a Friend and as I went through it, I literally sat in a Time Machine and went back to the year 1947. The book provides exhaustive information and details of what exactly transpired then, which many of our present History books do not even mention.

I was truly fascinated by the simple and lucid style of writing and was even a bit surprised that each and every incident has been told without adding any spice as we Indians especially the Media are well known for. Right from the time Lord Mountbatten took charge and the entire proceedings pre and post Partition has been explained in thorough detail. The causes, the reactions etc, the true opinons of all the then political leaders etc.

I hardly had any inclination towards History, but from the time I have read this book, I am now more inclined to read more. But I would definitely recommend this book to all my fellow Indians and that, they should once in their life-time read Freedom at Midnight if they want to know the Truth.
