Today is the last day I am ever ordering from Freshmenu. Let me tell you why.
Ive been a fairly regular customer of Freshmenu since they opened shop. But, Im sorry to say, their quality has been dropping to new lows while their apathy seems to be skyrocketing.
Today I ordered two burgers for a colleague and myself from Zomato. Mine was a Caesar Chicken Burger while hers was a Habanero Mexican Chicken Burger. The order was delivered and we proceed to open up our respective boxes. My burger was a skimpy little excuse for one, while(to my anguish) my colleagues was a big juicy one. Was I disappointed? Hell yes! Which self-respecting man doesnt like to gloat about his being bigger?
As I munched down this burger bun with a smearing of questionable spreads and a few bits of chicken bacon(yeah I know, wtf is chicken bacon?!), my annoyance only started to grow. It was compounded by the fact that my tummy was contemplating exiting my body due to the senseless torture I had just put it through. Im happy it didnt. That would have been a rather messy, not to mention painful, affair.
Now heres where it gets even better. I decide to check out the Freshmenu website to see a picture of the burger I ordered as I was quite appalled by its lack of substance and wanted to know if Freshmenu actually was in the business of selling disappointment with a free beverage. Turns out the burger came with a patty - no surprise there right? Well the surprise was limited to my order as I had been sent a burger with no patty. Can you believe that. A BURGER WITH NO GODDAMN PATTY? How did this event leave their kitchens? Oh wait, I know - NIL QUALITY CONTROL. When it comes to food, that is not just disappointing, but scary!
So what did I do next? Like any disappointed customer, I called the customer service helpline and proceeded to vent about my order. To cut a long story short, the customer service rep told me the best he could do was raise a complaint. No refund, no replacement, no nothing. How does a complaint help me? Ive chewed on that thought for a bit and come up with this - zilch. It might help Freshmenu marginally improve their(a)pathetic service, but to me, the customer whose Friday afternoon was ruined, it didnt help at all. Calling it customer service is a blatant lie - just like their burgers.
Well Freshmenu, youve just lost a customer and gained a hater. Maybe the next time you take a customers money, you will at least try to earn it.
