You know what guys! I have not even started keying in words here and I am all smiles. Thinking about this most wonderful serial on television screen....perhaps the greatest after the much adored ROBOCOP (Hey this is not a result of any plebisite or polls but my own opinion) in those days of glory does this to me, imagine what happens to me when I watch this serial.
Man I remember all the sunday serials I used to freak out on..Spider Man, Super Man, Famous Five, ROBOCOP, Panchtantra gatahain, Vikram aur Betal..(I even used to love the hindi version of famous five.. Faster Fene..Please please if any of u all have seen this serial please let me know as I do not want to look like the only weird one.)
Anyways the point I am trying to drive home is that these days we all are so much exposed to the idiot box that you hardly remember one serial from the other(VIP, silk stalking, Bay w... Oops.... No Not bay watch). but there were programs in those earlier days that really touched your hearts and leave a lasting impression on you. A part of this being that as kids exposure to TV programs and all was very restricted...I still remember how I used to watch spiderman thru the key hole as my mom would not let me watch TV while my Bro would wickedly feast on every single serial.
Now, after a long time on the televison box there is yet another serial which has been succesful in making such irresistible waves. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one such serial that talks about a family - family of friends, their friendship, love, feelings, life and the sheer joy of having each other to count on. Its about six great friends whoc would support eache other in good or bad, through ups and downs and any other point in life when one needs shoulder to rely on.
The serial no doubts has been beautifully conceptualised and executed with just the same perfection. The characters are so lively and look so real (even something like phoebe sounds so real..coz her expressions do not make u even think otherwise). I cannot differentiate one from the other when comes to appreciating the performance. Forget about the humans even their dogs and cats (if u remember smelly cat) act so well ..i don’t know how these guys manage to do that.
Look at Phoebe (She is so stupidly cute that you inevitably fall for her )Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey and my SWEET SWEET HEART The one and only Jennifer Aniston (Man how much I hate Bradd Pitt its not funny). every single role has been played to perfection.. If you noticed in the serial the director does not have the luxury of showing any other strucutre, thing, object but their faces to concentrate as most of the shooting is in one room only. Now this makes an artists job extremely difficult when he / she is aware that the there is a camera which is staring right into their eyes all the time. Any one expression which is not upto perfection will easily get caught. But they have done such a tremendous job that it deserves be applauded.
Lastly I need not even mention about the script... I get cramps in my stomach every time I watch this serial. It must have taken one helluva witty bugger to write their episodes..
To sum it up.. FRIENDS is clean and pure fun. A sheer joy to watch anytime, anywhere, any number of time.
(Gosh I get so emotional when I write these reviews.. whoof! please pardon me guys)
