As a rule, I automatically like any online portal that sells books. You sell books? I like you! But friendsofbooks.com makes for a very surprising change! This is my first used books online shopping experience and I was a bit skeptical at first but the site delivers good.
A big book junkie like me needed to keep a tab on my pockets when it came to hauling on for a new read. And this site is sure a winner when it comes to both. You have both used and new books for sale on this rather under-advertised little gem of a website.
There’s a big mix of prices. Some things are overpriced, some are under-priced, some are just right. Used books are priced at 100, 150 or 200 rupees and their condition is mentioned all along with a couple of reviews from other readers that helps save you the efforts of Googling the book for its reviews.
I’ve never gone to FriendsofBooks looking for a specific book, so I’m not sure how to rate it on that scale. I don’t think it matters, though. This is the sort of website to visit when you have a vague interest or direction to guide you toward a section.
You’ll inevitably find just the book you needed, and likely a few other life-changing (or at least curiosity-piquing) works as well. Try it. You’ll see. And of course at 100, 150 or 200 rupees for an otherwise pricey new book "trying" new authors makes for a reasonable change!
Although some books have been here for a while and need to be repriced.
