Id like to point out some differences between Top loading and Front loading machines.
Lets start from installation.
Top loading machines need a 5amp plug for electrical supply and an inlet connection with continuous water supply(which is recommended cos any fully automatic Top loading machine has a stepwise process of say soak ->wash->rinse->spin thus after completion of a process machine will take water from inlet pipe and if doesnt find water, automatically it will be paused. At this time top loading user can pour water in the drum and continue the process.)
Front loading machines need 15amp plug for electrical supply(cos they have in build heater in it) and it is recommended to do fixed plumbing for them. In general one has to buy a tape connector which connects the inlet of the machine to the pipe. (in short plumber is required:))
*Working:
*Top loaders have a pulsator or an agitator which produce movement in water inside the drum scrubbing the clothes on the walls of the drum, also known as scrubbers so with the help of detergent and scrubbing effect washing is done.
Front loaders have a tumble action in which clockwise and anti-clockwise thumping of clothes is done. Thus clothes are picked up and dropped in hot soapy solution(if one uses a heater option which is there in almost all front loadings) thus increasing.the wash quality.
*Feature difference:
*Wash care programs in Front loading machines are more. i.e. one has a greater choice for washing cotton clothes or synthetic ones in Front loading machines.
Heater option for hygenic hotwash is there in Front loading machines though there are some top loading machines which have inbuilt heater.
Front loader have high rinsing efficiency thus clothes come out detergent free.
Front loader have higher drying efficiency and some machines equiped with 100% dryer can dry clothes 100%.(But they are costlier and electricity and time consumption for the process is more.)
*Other difference:
Top loaders are economical than Front loaders but for good features one has to spend a little more. Also, remember **cost determines features and PRODUCT QUALITY.
Both the machines are user friendly. And if a person takes a little care none of the machines have to be stopped and opened in the middle of the process. even if one wants to do it he can do it easily cos there is drain option given in front loader, after draining stop the machine totally and after about 1.5 mins one can open its door.
Front loader weighs more than top loaders. Both can be moved around by placing them on trolly which is not recommended:) .
Water and detergent consumption in Front loading is less.
Some other useful points:
If one uses original accesories and consult a company technetian one will face minimum problems.
If one buys a Front loading clean gasket after every wash so its life will increase and there will be no leakage problem. Also gaskets life is less than that of machines so if you need to change the gasket do it.
Noise, vibration in Front loaders is generally more that in Top loaders.
Fully automatic machines after power failure automatic starts from the point they had stopped. so one need not worry. Same happens when water goes off.
If power goes off one can drain out water from front loading machines from emergency drain pipe which is at the bottom part at the front side and can take out the clothes.
Both the machines must be handled with care during transportation cos maximum problems occur due to mishandling.
*Thus.
Buying a Front loading machine will give you the best washing Quality and larger Feature selection and also may last longer.
Buying a Top loading machine will give you good washing Quality and will cost less to own one.
