This purchase was my decision after about three months of survey for digicams for beginners..I have used many cams actually for testing purposes from many of my friends and have given those cameras a run for their effeciency.From bright light to night shot, from super close macro to landscape shooting!!!
This Camera seems to have won me over, For the very fact that this looks kinda professional and the is one of the cheapest in the market in india having the superzoom quality.The camera has An amazing 10x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom.its lke pics from 38mm to 380mm..which is super cool. The 7.1 megapixel cam is good for outdoor photography and portrait photography. The camera has an intelligent flash(EFFECTIVE AND BRIGHT) and has a red eye reduction feature too.The flash pops open in the automatic mode in bad lighting conditions.There are many modes for shooting including sunset and beach modes and flower modes too..for capturing vivid colours of flowers.
The picture quality becomes granular and gives a matt finish at times and that is the only thing which lets down the camera’s quality.The cam is huge and fits into the hand properly like the other soap box cameras(I dont like them personally).The camera has a good battery life and gives almost 500 shots with a set of 4 batteries(ALKALINE AA).The best batteries would be Ni-MH with preferably 2300 mili ampere for good battery life.
The Cam supports SD and XD cards which is a boon(I needn’t buy new cards)and can store upto 500 snaps (7 Mpx) on a 1gb card.Continuous video shooting with sound is a good feature and there is an option for a direct AV out too.the USB is 1.1 and slow.People who are used to having the 2.0 interface will find this very irritating.There is a 5 v socket (ADAPTER SOLD SEPARATELY) for not letting the cam go off during interfacing with the computer.
Beginners cant find a better and cheaper bet than this!!! try it out..I personally recommend it to people with a passion for photography and cant decide how to nurture it or how to start!! go ahead, ..give it a try..
I got the cam at 13999, with a 1gb card and a 4 ft tripod stand ...it is worth the buy.
