For those of you who are not aware of this wonderful program this is one of my all time favorite serial, aired on Zee English (Zee café) Mon-Friday at 6.30 pm. The story revolves round an American family and their day-to-day activities. The serial is titled “FULL HOUSE”. Believe me this serial can make you laugh, can make you cry and lets you learn a lot about life. Always wondered why people go crazy after watching movies, serial etc.But today I am one of those crazy full house fans.
The creator of this serial has started the story with an untimely and unnatural death of Pam Tanner.Danny Tanner is now left with his 3 daughters. Six month old daughter Michelle, 5 year old Stephanie and 9 year old D.J.In order to raise these kids Danny takes the help of his brother in law Jessy Consopolis and his friend Jovey Gladstone. It is really amazing to see these three men involved in raising these kids.
Danny tanner is a cleanliness freak who even goes to the extent of cleaning his vacuum cleaner. A kind of person who gets exited very soon and likes to hug everybody. Danny Tanner is a television host. In the beginning of serial he is seen interviewing sportsmen, later he becomes the host of serial Wake up San Fransisco.Danny is the head of the family, person with a lot of values, a doting father and of course humorous person.
You can visualize Jessy Consopolis as a person in his early twenties, stylish, very fond of girls, fan of elvis and aspiring pop star. He hates if any man hugs him. Not to forget he is very fond of his hair. He is one of those stylish young men who have a harley davidson bike.
Jovey is the comedian in the family. A kind of person, who likes to watch cartoons, plays with kids and entertains kids. He entertains kids by imitating cartoon characters like popoye.
D.J Tanner is the eldest daughter. She is typical school going kid.D.J although adored by her father, sometimes makes mistakes.She has to share her room with her younger sister Stephanie.D.J has a friend And next door neighbor Kimmy gibler. Kimmy and D.J go to the same school and discuss a lot about boyfriends, makeup, hanging out etc.Inspite of being ignored by the Tanner family Kimmy repeatedly moves around D.J.
Stephanie is somebody who is always curious of D.J and her activities. Kind of character, who irritates D.J, yet an adorable, caring and lovely younger sister to D.J.
The highlight of this serial is the amount of effort parents put up in nurturing children. In case of single parent the effort obviously increases. Single mother or single father usually become doting parents. Author or creator has depicted this (emotional) quality that prevails in such a situation. Danny Tanner in spite of being very bold, sensible and shrewd person feels a little insecure (at times), but this insecure nature is complemented by the presence of Jessy and Jovey.Jessy becomes a loving uncle to his niece. For Danny Jovey being friend in deed becomes friend indeed.
There are many episodes where Danny Tanner teaches his young daughter Michelle to clean things, arrange books and preaches cleanliness. Here you see a father preaching his policies expecting his daughter to emulate him. You will find Danny tanner dreaming about his daughter being successful in career, marrying a doctor and expecting all sorts of good qualities.
The serial is suppose to have 192 episodes and is shot for approximately 8 years. You can watch the character Michelle transform from 6 month old baby to girl of six years (approximately). It is also fascinating to see D.J transforming from young girl to teenager to an adult. Stephanie can be seen growing from young girl to a teenager.
Parents also undergo a kind of trauma taking care of teenagers. You will also find Jessy getting married and parenting his children (Twins).
I wonder if the creator is a psychologist who specializes in child psychology. Characters exhibited by children of different age groups have been depicted so well that any viewer would say “o my god” I behaved the same when I was young.
Every episode displays some problem in the family. I feel overwhelmed by the way in which the situation is handled. Finally children are advised on exhibiting goodness or correctness. There are some episodes in which parents make mistakes and learn from them. There are episodes in which Danny tanner (Father) advices children about what could be wrong, what should be done and what is to be learnt. If you are parent wondering how to advice your child please watch this serial. The script involved and the kind of acting portrayed by the actors makes this serial unique.
Guys the serial has so much to explain. My mind boggles over describing the various episodes. I am not sure if this review is worth for this serial.
