Well this is review by a 25 yr young(or old).
I saw first washing machine SA videocon when I was barely in 4th stanard. Absoloutely amazing. We used it for over a decade and changed it(unfortunately) for another SA Onida Hydroblast as metal body had rusted a lot.
It was ok then as most of the times mother used to wash. Later she got spondilitis(i hop e I spelled it right). Also due to increasing age etc it was getting it difficult for her to shift kgs of load from one tub to another, wet hands frquently. By then I had taken a job in merchant navy and hence started helping my mom with washing during my 3-4 months of long leave. I realized it was stupid to call it even SA. To fill water u r standing there, then to start/tranfer clothes/drain/spin for everything in fact. One cant even enjoy reading news paper while keeping an eye / hand on SA WM
I then kept a maid. This is perhaps best option if u find a good maid. Imagin u instead of buying 20-25k good machine deposit same in bank at 10% nationalized banks do give it 2day.
ur interest is at least 200rs a month add electricity consumption to it. So maid is best but this option has its own problems of unreliable attendance etc. Hence ultimately using GODREJ FA. So far so good.
Hence even though I am married now and have a housewife I think it is more sensible to invest money in FA. these are available from 13k for good brands. Go for simple one w/o electric heater and much fancy which suffices day to day needs. And find time once in a month to rub collars by proper washing brush.
I believe it is worthless spend 5-8k on SA and still spend 1-2 hrs around it every day.
AND DONT WORRY ABOUT ELECTRONICS. I AM WORKING ON SHIPS AND HAVE SEEN FEW MACHINES WORING LIKE DONKEY. NOT EVEN ONCE IN LAST 4 YRS I HAVE SEEN ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS KONKING OFF. IN FACT MORE DICEY IS BELT/MOTOR AND "LIMIT SWITCHES".
