I have been using Gaana+ since 2 years and have opted for the Student annual plan which costs ₹199.
For the first time(first year) I had to give my Personal Details and College details where I had uploaded by College ID card and it was verified by their team and thus the student plan activated.
For the second year they didnt ask me to verify my College details and I just renewed it in the plan options for the same ₹199 plan.
Now coming to the product, I mainly listen to Indian songs like Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam and the collection is good .Best part is that I found OST(Original soundtrack of movies) or simply known as background music.
I mainly use it in my mobile(Honor 8C) and sometimes in Firetv.
Android Experience:
The app layout was easy to use but the UI was not that attractive. Sometimes I faced problem in searching for songs as I had to search using exact spelling and the search suggestions were not responsive.
Most of the songs(maybe 99%) I heard had HD quality(320kbps) and had lyrics feature(Lyrics feature was not there in offline mode) and could download them in the mobile .
They also have equalizer option for audio which unfortunately was not available in my mobile even though I had earphones connected.
However the period after Tiktok ban they had launched some reels kind of thing which was making app slow and those videos used to appear in songs(video), its good thing they have discontinued it.
Recently(past 1 year) they have launched new feature of coins were I perform tasks and they give coins which can be redeemed to avail 3rd party offers.
Firetv Experience:
Has similar feature apart from Download.
I was able to search and play songs through voice control and the sound quality was good especially when connected to Bluetooth speakers.
UI is also good with correct font size(not too small).
Verdict: Best app and cheaper for students and must buy, also it supports multiple devices.
