Gallopin gooseberry opened up sometime back in Hyderabad. It started something new like european dishes like lasagna and pasta, etc. I am a food freak, especially when it comes to burgers, real burgers not the ones with the minced meat.
Anyways, I went to this Gallopin gooseberry for the first time with my newly wed wife and I looked at the menu. They had america burgers in the menu and pasta and all. Being a burger freak myself, I ordered an american burger. To my surprise the burger contained no beef/chicken or meat patti, nor minced meat. It was like a hand made splatter of meat cooked on a pan with less oil. It was dissapointing.
Okay, I told myself not to eat there anymore. Last night, one of my friends told me that Lasagna at gallopin gooseberry is really good. Fine, I just ordered Chicken and Cheese Lasagna with two bottles of 500mL coke. The delivery boy came and I saw the bill. Imagine what the cost would’ve been : a whopping 407 rupees for 2 lasgnas and 2 Rs. 15 bottles of coke. They charged 50 Rupees for a bottle of coke delivered to me. Looking at the bill filled 75% of my afternoon hunger. My wife could not even digest the food after looking at that price.
No more Gallopin Gooseberries in my household ever. As for my friend, who gave me the hint, he’s got bad taste written all over him. Just beware before ordering anything from Gooseberry, look at the prices and then pay. Its hard earned money and some people (Gallopin Gooseberry) have no respect for hard earned money.
