I have been to GanapatiPule in 1992..that was along time ago and I hope its is still as beautiful as it was then.It was not at commercialised and the only hotel available was Abhishek. It had lovely rooms with long balconys which overlooked the beach. It was almost like a private beach with just you and you gang there as the more commercialised beach is the one outside the Ganapatipule Temple beach which is quite dirty. The best time is to visit it during the rains en route to Goa.Amboli ghat which is on the way becomes home to lots of small waterfalls in the ghats and its almost like a walk in the clouds.Ganapatipule is considered as one of the Ashtavinayaks and is a religious destination. It has the best and cleanest beaches which are like virgin territories. The people here are very simple and friendly. You should definitely visit one of these local families for Gharghuti food comprising of the typical Konkani fare of Solkadhi and food with lots of Kokum and fresh coconut.
