As I child, I have visited this restaurant on very rare and special occasions. I always remember it as a great place, but last week after almost 10 years, I decided to give it a try. With no table reservation, my wife, child and I landed up at the restaurant.
They have valet parking, but I parked my self on the road opposite to the restaurant. I saw a crowd waiting for tables. I walked in and asked the staff for a table. I was politely told to that the wait would be 30mins. So we decided to wait. The wait was actually nice. The door man and the valets were involved with the waiting guests. They even kept my daughter entertained. We were served water and soft drinks while waiting. Within 25 mins, they invited me in and escorted us to the table.
The restaurant was full and chirpy. The ambience is very warm and the lighting just right. I could see some really exciting cocktails and mocktails being served and the aroma of food was exceptional. We loved it.
The Waiter came and introduced himself to us, we ordered for drinks, a starter and the main course. The food was fantastic. Try their famous dish - Subzi Miloni... They also have a Wheat(atta) roomali. We ate a pure veg meal and although I love non-veg food, I did not miss it. The service was really great. The waiters all around were very attentive. They kept a distant but effective eye on our needs.
I closed my meal with a nice coffee. The manager explained to me about a new coffee machine they have and how the staff were being trained to make some good coffees.
On the way out, a lot of smiling good byes and thank yous every where. While we were waiting to cross the road to get to the car, the valet came to me to ask if we need a rickshaw or taxi. I pointed out to my car across the road, he immediately crossed the road with us and escorted my wife and daughter in to the car.
We had a great evening. I truly recommend this place for a nice dinner. Cost for a dinner for 2 may be approx Rs. 1000+
