If you wanna have a eyeful of Garfield -the cute, lovable, lazy bum of a cat, all you get is the shadow of his image..
WHY?
why is garfield, so lovable..?
1> His is lazy (just like you and me)
2> He is selfish (just like everybody)
3> He likes eating (just like me)
4> He is troublesome (if you think you are not, ask your closest friend..;)))
5> And etc...
Now in the movie you see that the good old garfield going serious. Just another Stuart Little kinds... but nowhere near.. the cute little dog who is considered a duffer, is the most intelligent of them all here (Ollie.. I guess.. forgive my memmory). He gets famous for his antics and goes places and his arch loving enemy cum friend (garfield) goes hunting due to external pressure....
Frankly, I dont know if thats the history of Garfield..
The Disappointment Factor
I went to see the kid of humour only garfield can produce, but all I got was his shadow. The director tried but the humorous nature of gardfield got submerged in the adventurous nature of him.. THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO INCLUDE SENTIMENTAL FACTOR IN COMIC CHARACTER
John is the smart kinds in the movie and he too is ignored or is portrayed as a smart guy a gal falls for while in story he is the opposite.. John should have been given more importance with his realtion with Garfield...
The camera and the flow isnt as catchy as it should have been..
yOPU CAN GO FOR THE MOVIE WITH LITTLE KIDS AND WISH THAT THEY CRAWL THROUGH THE MOVIE WITHOUT CRYING OR DOZING OFF...
RECOMMENDED ONLY IF YOU ARE A BIG TIME FAN OF GARFIELD BUT DONT EXPECT HEAVENS..
