Recent Update: Now mamata bannerjee has introduced durantos. durantos are faster than rajdhani but slower than Bhopal a shatabdi.
But true revolution is garibrath which in a speed eualing almost that of Rajdhani allows a passenger to travel beteween MumabDelhi in AC comfort in just Rs. 650. Duranto charges whopping rs. 1100 for the same distance and fails to add significantly to the service.So here Lalu has scored over mamata. Passengers should demand that Garibrath runs daily touches .New Delhi and Mumbai central and August Kranti also converted to Garibrath alon with all rajdhanis for cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Dibrugadh etc s as distances are too large and it is advisable to travel by Plane than book expensive rajdhani ticket.
I manitain that garibarth was first and remains only true innovation aimed at common man by our administartion and political leaders. Another one is Janshatabdi. there should be a mobe for Janshatabdification of shatabdis by converting the rakes to double deckers. People who can afford a shatabdi are also who own multiole cars and can travel by their own car at their choice. It is not a corect move for a public transport mode like railways where operation a superfast train blocks the rtrack for five stations to keep the train restriced to so called elite class! It is against the priciples of government for people!
Railways and Lalu prasad Yadav deserve a great applaud on the introduction of GAribrath train between mumbai and delhi.Now even office goers can seek justice in apex court without wasting extra casual leave by catching garibrath.
The train has speed of rajdhani and has convenint timings. It starts from Bandra terminus at 4-55 p.m to reach Hajarat nizamuddin at 9-40 a. next day. Similar timings suitable for office goers prevail in reverse direction! One does not have to unnecessarily pay exorbitantly for food. Food cost is not included in fare! The train is fully AC. But Ac 3tier fares are lesser than even normal express train Ac fares! A great customer friendly move by railways. Hitherto sleeper class travel was available for Chennai commuters for Delhi in Tamilnadu express!. But comparable sleeper class train was not available between Mumbai and Delhi. both Frontier alias Golden temple mail and Paschim express were slowewr as compared to Tamilnadu express. This meant that For mumbai travellers there was no good fast train to delhi! which is affordable with sleeper class! while such a facilty was available for chennai people with tamilnadyu express. Gatibrath has Removed this lacuna although partly. We need daily two garibraths. Garibrath should start from Bombay central and New delhi with halts at dadar, Andheri, Borivali, Faridabad, H.Nizamuddin on both ways. Also I suggest that Ac chair car be replaced by sleeper class equipped with air coolers.
In every express train every 3 tier should be garibarth 3 tier so that it becomes more affordable to middle class traveller. For elite there is Ac 2 tier and ACII or plane or private car!.
Garibrath is really a valure for money!

Come on let us give a big hand to what is a really people friendly action taken by government after the introduction of Janshatabdi trains unlike shatabdis and rajdhanis which are not affordable by middle class passengers and one fails to understand why trains for such class of people who can afford to take a flight or use their own car!
