Summary:
Tour Agents: Praveen and Ameena. Please avoid/refrain from booking from this firm/agents as they will act very differently as compared to the time you decide on the package vs during your Tour. Overall, the experience with ATT had been the worst, lot of word-play in the Package deal, poor coordination and unsatisfactory response/action. Do not trust the Vouchers they provide against your bookings as they mean nothing to the Hotels since no real booking is made. (The rooms are offered only if available). Instead, they asked us to send screenshots of Chat/Emails/Package deal what was promised which should ideally be all available at their end. Even though we proved our point, the argument posed was that all the promises were verbal before you booked the package or they will look into it and make us spend the whole evening at the Hotel reception.
Details: We, a group of 6+ 2(Kids), planned a package with ATT for our Andaman Travel at least 2 months prior to the travel and ended up having the worst of our tour experience till date. Instead of us enjoying Andaman, we spent hrs on calls with Praveen/Ameena to explain them the difference between what was promised to what we were really offered in Andaman.
Below are the worst highlights to call out.
1st Day: Given a group of 6+ 2, the travel Agent expects you to fit in a 6 seater Vehicle with all your luggage as they would charge you extra in case you need to carry your luggage from Airport to the Hotels. The booking made for our 1st day in Port Blair was on a different date as to when we arrived. Poor coordination to start with leading to 2 Hrs delay.
2nd Day: There was no real booking made prior to our arrival. Instead of 3 premium sea-facing rooms as promised, we were offered 2 triple bed deluxe rooms. They initially lied to us saying Sea view rooms were not included in the package and later agreed that since they were not available they were not able to provide what was promised. All this happened because they don’t really do any bookings with the hotel and depend on room availability on the day of your arrival. Upon request and discussion worth 5 Hrs, they moved us to a downgraded Hotel and provided 3 Deluxe rooms. We requested a lot to at least provide us premium rooms(even though they were available) but Praveen wouldn’t even lift the phone or help us out.
3rd Day: Instead of roaming around in Havelock, we were moving rooms, transferring/Packing luggage.
4rth Day: We were promised scooters in the Package contract but were later asked to pay upon delivery. The contract clearly mentioned “Scooters will be provided.” the counter argument by Praveen was they always meant on extra charges(which is not mentioned in the package deal)
5th Day: Poor coordination with the Driver. The Package mentioned Museum visits, but they would plan the tour in such a way that the driver will pick you up post the Museum gets closed to eventually pull money out as you’d then request them to take you out to another spot.
6th Day: We were promised a 3-star property for our last day stay in Port Blair to which we were offered 1010 sized standard rooms. Upon complaint and discussion worth 4 hrs, we were offered a free dinner worth 1k as compensation. The rooms didn’t even have AC Remote, Telephone or Water heater.
Overall, they cheated us for about 25k on a package worth of 150k. Post our trip, Praveen agreed for only 3k worth of refund and hence is why I’m posting the truth online to help other enthusiast travelers to AVOID ATT for travel plans.
