All those guys in Pune who are not satisfied with expensive and average quality of food in the city know that good food can only be found on the outskirts of the city. One such special place on Mulshi road on Pune city outskirts is Garva!
Location: Garva Resort Bhugaon, Tal. : Mulshi, Dist. Pune ( Pune-Paud Road) It is Located to the west of pune city, on the road going to Mulshi. Approximately 14 Km from the city just near Manas resorts.You can take a Bike or a Car and enjoy the drive.The road is secluded at nights do take care!
Ambience:This is the best part of Garva, it has an Amazing ’’Machan’’ (a wooden built house where you need to climb up using a ladder) which is very authentic and give you a feel as if you are in a jungle. Also you can also have a scenic view of the Mulshi Lake, which looks tantalising in starry nights. If you like privacy garva also has individual huts, and there is a large Garden at the entrance where you can host parties. The ambience is very quiet and peaceful. Far away from the city crowd and near to the nature.
Food: Don’t expect wide range of food delicacies in Garva unlike other hotels in pune who can serve from Dosas and pathetic chinese food in the same plate. garva offers a limited veg and Non-Veg food mostly Punjabi cuisines.And if you are going out with friends for boozing off you can have a good range of Indian Made foreign Liqour and Beer made available on request.
Starters: I prefer the Kanda Bhaji (Onion Pakodas), however get a good Tandoori Murg, Kebabs and fried peanuts and roasted papads with cheese cherry n pineapple.
Main Course:
Non Veg:- The Chicken Handi and kadhai Chicken here are amazing.Although you can also have Chicken Mughlai and Adraki Chiken. The chicken Tikka is bit spicy, if you want you can also get a Gavran Kombadi. Fish is available seasonally and is pretty decent.However I have not tried lamb here.
Veg:- veg Kolhapuri is definitely worth a try. Paneer Tikka Masala, Methi malai matar are also good. Dal Tadka is simply great! The Butter Nan is really soft and loaded with ghee.
Camping & Accomodation:Garva also offers you cottages & Tents for overnight stays. Also you can get a group discount if you want.
Pocket Worries: Well except for the cost for travelling, the food is really affordable with Full Handi for Rs.150/- So you know what I mean! Food is really at a reasonable rate. Accomodation is around Rs.550/- to Rs. 1500/- depending on types and tents. Boating facility is also available on request.
Concluding Part: Garva is a very rocking place when it comes to chilling out with friends and partying. Also if you want a romantic Drive and authentic food garva is a place you got to be! All in all a great place with decent food.
Do keep in mind this place is a bit away from city and the road is deserted at nights so, it is advised to go in groups there!
