Horrible service from the start. we NEVER received our first statement in the mail, hence did not even know what our account number was. since we didnt know what out account number was, we could not sign up for account info via their website and when we tried to get help via phone, it asks for your account number to even get you pass the first prompt.
VERY frustrating. as a result, we ended up being late for our first payment. we FINALLY received an email from them telling us we did NOT make our first payment and would be charged a service fee for this. luckily, there was an alternate phone number from the others provided in our google search that lead us STRAIGHT to a representative--albeit, in INDIA. nothing against this BUT I had a VERY difficult time understanding the rep who answered the phone. with a little patience we were able to communicate. I told her we NEVER received an initial statement and could not get access to our account info due to this. thankfully, she waived the fee but asked that we pay our late payment plus the following months payment--but we would be charged an additional $15 for making a payment over the phone. yes, even though she was waiving the late payment fee, there was still a charge to make a payment over the phone. reluctantly, I obliged for fear of some sort of additional hidden fee lingering out there.
She later revealed that they did NOT have our STREET name, just the street number, which is probably why we have not received a statement. I thought this was strange being that we had to give all this info during the application process to begin with. I was definitely skeptical!! I then gave her our CORRECT address a few times and had her repeat what she had just to make sure. she then told me we should receive a statement within 7-10 business days. 3 weeks later...still NO statement. I called again a few days ago and spoke to another rep. apparently they STILL did not have the correct address!! again, ONLY the street number. you can only imagine my rage, how incompetent can these people be? again, I gave my address and made the rep repeat this at LEAST 5 times. he assured me that we would receive a statement in 7-10 business days. I FINALLY received my statement yesterday, and you best believe I will be paying off this bill in its entirety TODAY even though it has only been 2 months. it was our intention from the get-go to pay this off immediately, as we only financed out of convenience at the time but I cant wait to wash my hands clean of this parasitic company! consumers beware..
THIS COMPANY WILL NICKEL AND DIME YOU ANY WAY POSSIBLE, EVEN IF IT MEANS MAKING UP SUCH ABSURD STORIES AS NOT HAVING YOUR MAILING ADDRESS WHEN GIVING THIS INFO IS REQUIRED IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS TO BEGIN WITH. if youve got other means of financing, like at your personal bank or credit union, take the time to do so. it will be worth all your extra effort and time. GE Money is unreliable and lacks integrity. reminds me of loan-sharking. in fact, youre better off going to your nearest pawn shop and getting a payday loan from them rather than going through GE Money. both are equally HORRIBLE and extremely untrustworthy. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you want to sleep well at night.
