Makeup tips !! - but you dont need to follow them

This review is totally unplanned. I  was just reading about some health and beauty products on MS and chanced upon this advice section and quickly felt like filling up my thoughts on this.

Now before I write this reivew,  my request to my MS friends is:  only take those points that concern  your face type and style. Dont try all the tips at the same time, and lastly,  dont think I try all these things on my face and  waste so much time in  looking pretty.  No, I dont care all that much about looks but I definitely try to  look good with minimal makeup.  The tips I wrote below, I  actually got from a few websites, TV and some self experiments. So let me start.

Some general tips for all faces

-> *Always, keep your face clean by washing it with water and mild soap or some scrub which is mild. A clean face without clogged pores is the best base for applying makeup.  Applying makeup is very similar to  painting on an empty canvas. If the latter is dirty or dull, the colors on it is going to look dull as well

->Dry skin people, use moisturizers. Oily skin people avoid them. If the face is dry and looks patchy, then any foundation or cream on it is going to look very shabby

->Lastly, a good  skin is either inherited or  self created. Those who dont have good skin by birth can always get it by eating right and drinking lots of water. Avoid oily food, soda, chips and sweets . Drink 12 glasses of water daily. you might have to visit some other place frequently if you followed the  regime, lol!  but after a week, you will notice a visible difference in your skin.

Now some specific makeup tips.

  • to begin with, check your face type.

Check if  its going to look good with makeup or without it .

Some faces just change and lightup with the right makeup and other faces look nice without any. Some examples in Bollywood are Madhuri Dixit, Aishwariya rai etc. they look very very  stunning with the right makeup.  Ash in first half of Taal and Madhuri in Prahaar dont look the same as Ash in  Hum dil. and Madhur in Hum aapke hain.? isnt it  ?

I am not trying to say that without makeup, these two look horrible. . just trying to say that  their faces look much more  beautiful with makeup.    On the same note, people like  Jaya bachan, Nanda, Nutan and to an extent Preity Zinta look madeup with excess makeup. Leave them alone in their natural form and they look good.

So first check if your face is the kind that can  be madeup  in the first place

-*If yes, then check your skin type. If its oily and full of pimples, dont put any heavy foundation. some people put one kilo of makeup to hide the blemishes and pimples. At times the same things get aggravated  due to creams and foundation.

If you are blessed with good skin already, then just wash and put some powder.

If you  DONT HAVE any pimples sprouting and just old  blemishes, then  put some foundation.  Most of the time mix it with cream or water and then apply, so it doesnt come on too strong

About lipsticks. See your lip type. If its dark, then please avoid using matt shades and colors like browns and maroons. Many people do that mistake and endup looking darker. If you have a dark face and dark lips, then apply light brown and shiny colors rather than matt.

If you have pink lips or lips that are not  dark.then go for any shade.

I would say, first apply lip liner, then fill inside with a slightly lighter shade so the lip liner outline can be seen.

If you have thin lips, then add a layer to it with lip pencil but carefully.

Has anyone noticed Amisha’s Patel upper lip makeup? most of the layer is artificially created and she really doesnt have such big lips.  Those who have full lips i.e like Angelina Jolie . leave your lips alone. Just put light lipstick:)

Eyes To begin with, dont ignore your eyebrows. Many girls do that. do all sorts of fuss on eyes and leave out eyebrows. you dont want a monalisa look(sorry, I am not making fun of the painting.just telling very seriously). So first take care of your eyebrows,  give them shape and apply eye pencil on them.

Eyebrows sure have lasting impact on your personality. remember Karishma Kapoor’s sea change in looks  ?

if you have  small eyes like me:( use a good kohl pencil  on your lower eyelids. this helps to enhance  eyes more than an Eyeliner.

Sometimes, people who have small eyes apply a lot of eye liner and it  usually looks smudgy.  You could also put dark colored eye-shadow in place of eye-liner.  A right combination of   eye-shadow, kaajal and  good eyebrows can hide all your eye flaws.

I do not like applying mascara, I find it very artificial. If you have very less eyelashes like mine, then dont even try it . Whatever little you have, will also standout and look artificial. Also, I dont have much idea on how to use blush ons and other cheek makeup.

I also cannot say much about using cosmetic lens for eyemakeup

Conclusion

As I said earlier, please try any of the things, I mentioned only if suits your skin and if you find it useful.  Beauty definitely lies in the eyes of a beholder. But with all this talk of inner beauty and stuff,  how come outer beauty is still appreciated?  The world is always two-sided.

Remember

  • Graceful people always get noticed first.

Arranged marriages still takes place on the basis of looks(unless the parents are broadminded enough to let you go for repeated dates to get to know each other)

well).

  • Despite Sushmita’s intelligence and personality, Aishwariya is more famous  today.

Remember the  cinderella story,  who was really noticed only after she changed her appearance?

-ooooo-ooooo-ooooo-ooooo-oooo-

Please dont misunderstand me. I am not saying ONLY PRETTY GIRLS GET NOTICED AND OTHERS DONT. I am only trying to say that it always pays to look good.

In this modern world with so much of  parlours, cosmetics and other accessories available at good prices,  one can always take time to address ones facial flaws and correct them.

You dont have to be a stunner to get noticed .

But with some good dress sense, the way you carry yourself and your good attitude, you can sure go places.

I stop here, I hope my review was useful in some way.  Comments awaited.
