A site whereby people can learn from others experiences is what MS is about. Whenever I buy a product, I firstly look at its specifications and make comparisons. Secondly I look for personal experiences with that product. The latter holding more value. Unfortunately till date I’ve never been able to find reviews on products I’ve needed to buy. Hence I’m writing reviews so that at-least someone else can benefit from my mistakes(if they were in the first place). MS was the site that managed to catch my attention(by accident).(did see “Mouthshut.com” as an advt. on a couple of Rickshaws but never did go to the site).
Just joined as a member so don’t really know what all these MS points or whatever they are called are gonna do for me. Do enjoy receiving comments on my review. Ratings tell me if I need to improve on my review. One thing for sure, the people behind MS do a great job in heeding to my request for more new products.
Although I think I’ve contributed a small amount of reviews to MS I do wish there were more writers out there who would do the same. Some of the reviews I’ve read are utter disgusting(just read one review right now where the author has just copy pasted one line 20 times – maybe MS should ban the members or remove those reviews as soon as possible).
Believe it or not, MS actually helps me in my business. Since it is an opinion board, i’ve actually helped my clients improve on their services by checking some of the negative reviews. So infact, those of you who complain about services/products might have to re-edit their reviews due to changes bought about by their complaints. Majority of the time people complain without actually letting the Company/service providers etc know about it. When I put forth your complains they are always surprised by the fact of the matter. So next time, before you settle for an opinion, do let them know, and if they do not change matters, then you have every right to put them down.
Always do wonder majority of the members who read my review rate it even though the products are not even available in their part of the world. That’s pretty amazing. Thanks for that. Guess they do appreciate my form of writing.(Constructive Criticism always welcome). Hope the members do gain some experience from my reviews though.
Although there is one thing that irritates me about MS is their Content/form of their web-pages. For eg. If I’ve got to read a review on a car I’ve got to know the exact model no. etc. All the reviews are not pasted on that Sub - page itself(atleast beginning – this happens only after u’ve clicked the SPECIFIC model then only the reviews appear). Say another example like my review on Alpine Car deck. In the Alpine subtitle a whole lotta alpine deck numbers are mentioned(majority of them have no reviews on them – then why are they there in the first place, since u can always request for a review), and my review appears only if you click on that model no. Imagine out of 40 model nos. only 4 of them have reviews written on them, do I have to click on 40 models before I can get a review. A new reader would be frustrated if he was just browsing. Instead on putting the Recent Reviews(of the full site) with that “High Ranking “ and “Low Ranking” reviews on the sub pages(since its already on the Home Page), the reviews pertaining to that Sub Page should be below that page. For eg. When I click on the Alpine Car decks, all the Alpine car audio reviews should be below that page( only title and beg.). once a reader has clicked on a specific model then only those pertaining to that model should appear(this presently happens). Take another example, yesterday I went to the MP3 player link where there were atleast 15 players but the recent reviews on that same page mentioned as usual below were about MOBILE PHONES. Would have liked to read abt MP3 players on that same page, now I would have to click individually on each and every player. No time for that.(got to write reviews).
Hope I’ve made my point clear. It’s a little difficult to communicate what I’ve mentioned above in writing – but just did it. If the people behind MS do read it, I do hope they call me whereby I can clarify the same with them. Its just a computer programme which has to be rectified.
Without doubt MS is a place where Bad Company’s/products/experiences are exposed to the world so that people know about it and avoid it like the plague and good Company’s/products/ experiences are advertised cause there ain’t no better advertisement than the “Word of Mouth” rather in this case The word of the Trusted Members of MouthShut.
